Belknap is a native of Damariscotta, Maine. Her parents are David Belknap and Louise Belknap. She was a student at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle Maine. While at Middlebury College in Vermont she discovered an interest in acting. Then she attended the American Conservatory Theater earning a Master of Fine Arts degree. Belknap has a number of TV credits, which include frequent roles in series on Medical Investigation, Third Watch as well as The Handler. She also played recurring roles on Deadline as well as Law & Order Law & the Special Victims section, as well as the role of a guest star.
