Awkwafina started out as an American performer and rapper, releasing sly tracks that tackled topics like racial or sexual identities with a funny twist. Before expanding into Hollywood, she had the opportunity to make a few songs. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first music experience. She performed on the trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was just a teenager.
