Bella Poarch is a Filipino born to biological Filipino parents. Her birth date was the 9th of February, 1997. Her grandmother was a resident of among the Manila slums until she reached the age of three. Her adoptive family is made consisting of an Filipino adoptive mother and white American army veteran. The woman claims she and her brother who was adopted as infants, were subject to abuse until they enlisted. They lived with their uncle at San Francisco for several months before moving back to Texas on her 13th birthday in the wake of the requirement for her father to undergo bypass surgery. The physical violence subsided, but she still dealt with her father's psychological abuse at home. She joined in the United States Navy at age 18. Poarch started her TikTok in April of 2020 which quickly gained traction. She amassed over 40 million followers in less that 8 months. The account was home to a variety of videos, but her biggest hit was a music video featuring Millie B's hit song Soph Aspin Send. A zoomed-in clip of her synchronized lip-syncing to the tune and jumping around into the song was a viral video that was the top TikTok video. As soon as she became a member of TikTok and began to gain fame Poarch launched a YouTube channel, as well as a Twitter account. The fame of Poarch peaked in December 2020. Poarch was reportedly the subject of interest of two major professionals Esports teams. FaZe Clan (100 Thieves) and 100 Thieves are interested in hiring her to create the content they wanted for their brands.
